Crew Leader, Fruit Packing
Position Summary:
The Crew Leader on the Pear line is responsible for the coordination of fruit placement to support both Pear and Banquet line requirements. The Supervisor will determine the labor requirements and appropriate staffing. Crew Leaders motivate and coach employees for a positive work environment while maintaining quality production and safety standards. Specific job duties will be discussed at the interview. This is an hourly paid position. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position. This position is located in Medford, Oregon.
Position Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required to interact effectively with different levels of authority and personnel with the company. Must be able to promote a team effort to achieve common goals as well as give and receive constructive feedback.
- Must have an understanding of established safety/quality and the ability to communicate them.
- Good intermediate math skills are required.
- Bi-Lingual skills, English/Spanish is highly preferred
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills are essential.
- Prior production experience is preferred.
- Must be a self starter, willing and able to learn new responsibilities.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, walking bending reaching, twisting and lifting up to 20 pounds, and an ability to withstand a production environment with exposure to dust, occasional fumes and varying production and cold storage temperatures.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
Skills Screening Requirements:
- Math, Bilingual Screening (if applicable)
It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete their skills screening at the Harry & David Employment Center. Screenings may be taken Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your resume will not be considered until required skills screening has been completed.
